Handling Personal Information
GIPSA values the importance of protecting personal information of each customer, and in order to ensure it thoroughly, we have established the following privacy policies to handle the information; ‘Act on the Protection of Personal Information’ and ‘Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in the Administrative Procedure’ and other related laws, regulations and rules, and the proper handling of personal information. The definitions of the terms used in these policies are based on the laws concerning the protection of personal information (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Personal Information Protection Act’ and other relevant laws and regulations.
Basic Policy:
To implement and maintain this privacy policy, GISPA has established the internal rules and systems concerning the proper handing and protection of personal information etc., and we have fully inform all officers and employees of our organization (including contract employees, temporary and part-time employees, regardless of employment type, hereinafter referred to as ‘Executives & Employees, etc’) of these rules and systems, and we review them regularly and make changes as necessary.
Acquisition of Personal Information :
GISPA clearly defines the purpose of use within the scope of legitimate business, and we acquire, collect and handle customers’ personal information by legitimate and appropriate means to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose,
However, with regard to specific personal information, we acquire, collect and handle in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Purpose of Using Personal Information :
GISPA use the collected personal information of customers within the scope of following purpose and for the purposes that are clear from the method through which the information is collected. We will not use the information in any other purpose expect in cases provided by laws.
- Application of Digital Test
- Application of various e-learning services
- Purchase of textbooks
- Application to participate a seminar, etc
- Survey
- Enquiry via email
- Any other activities in which conduct safely and reliably with customers
In addition, GISPA will notify the customer without delay when requested to notify the purpose of use of the customers’ personal information.
However, it excludes the following cases.
- Cases in which the purpose of use is clear
- Cases in which notifying the purpose of use to the customer of or publicly announcing it might harm the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the person or a thirty party.
- Cases in which notifying the purpose of use to the customer or publicly announcing it might harm the rights or legitimate interests of the GISPA
- Cases in which the purpose of use to the customer or publicly announcing it might impede the execution of the operations concerned by a government institution or a local public organization
Disclosure/Provision of personal information to a third party:
GISPA shall not provide customer’s personal information to any of a third party except for the following cases.
- Cases in which customer’s consent is obtained
- Cases in which the disclosure is required by laws
- Cases in which the disclosure is required to provide to entrusted business partners to perform the service that the customer desires
Additionally, we will cease to provide of the information on request of the customer.
However, we do not provide specific personal information, etc. to third parties except in cases provided by law.
Subcontracting of Personal Information Handing:
GISPA may subcontract the handling of personal information it has collected to third parties in order to facilitate smooth operations or the provision of higher quality services to customers. In that case, a person to handle personal information shall be chosen legally and properly and will be supervised concerning appropriate control of personal information.
Management of Personal Information, etc.:
- Ensuring the accuracy of the contents
GISPA shall maintain the personal information of customers accurately and on an up-to-date basis and endeavor to erase such information without delay when it is no longer necessary.
- Security Measures
The GISPA shall provide security measures in order to prevent loss, destruction, manipulation, or leakage of personal information, etc., and take appropriate security controls, such as countermeasures against unauthorized access and computer viruses.
- Supervision of employees, etc.
GISPA shall ensure that our employees are properly informed and familiar with the provisions of appropriate handling of the personal information of customers.
Inquiry from the person concerned:
GISPA will respond without delay to customer requests and inquiries concerning the disclosure, correction, or suspension of personal information under the procedures specified separately by GISPA.
