GISPA’s Nursing Care

Foreigners, who are thinking of working in nursing-care field in Japan, can now learn from smartphones, tablets, PC about “Words of Nursing care“, “Practice of Nursing care“, “Basic Course of Nursing care“, “Preparation Course for National Examination for Care Workers“.

GISPA’s Japanese Ability

It is necessary for nursing-care workers to have a certain level of ability to communicate with users. Accordingly, care workers need to acquire Japanese proficiency properly. GISPA recommends a Japanese learning system [jElearning App], in which courses from the beginner level [ZERO~] to the advanced level [N1] are available.

GISPA’s Digital Test

GISPA TEST is available over CBT (Computer-Based Testing) network. It is offered at 6 levels, from the beginner [G6] to the advanced [G1]. GISPA TEST will be held at official venues and test sites in Japan and overseas. A certificate can be issued to successful applicants.

Why are foreign nursing-care workers in need?

In March 2020, the employment-to-applicant ratio in the nursing care field was 4.10, which is extremely high compared to 1.39 in the general field.
The number of nursing care staff in October 2017 was about 1.87 million. The estimated requirement of staff number is about 2.16 million in 2020, and about 2.45 million in 2025. The anticipated staff shortage in 2025 is about 340,000 and 690,000 in 2040. It is estimated that the nursing care staff shortage is getting more and more severe.

OVERVIEW ABOUT GISPA

Global Inclusive Society Promotion Association

Global Inclusive Society Promotion Association (GISPA),  a public-interest incorporated association, was established in September 2021. The labor shortage in all industry is one of the most worrisome problems in Japan, as it entered a new demographic stage of a rapidly aging society with a low birth rate and a shrinking population.
Therefore, expansion the acceptance of foreign workers is absolutely essential to resolve the labor shortage problem.

Especially, shortage in human resources for nursing care is escalating and the estimated number of labor force shortage is about 340,000 in 2025 and 690,000 in 2040. (See Text Chart 1).

GISPA, established with an aim of contributing toward solutions to the labor shortage, has taken steps to cultivate talented foreign workers symbiotically to the local community.

Foreign workers are required to have the acquisition of key skills such as Japanese language ability and nursing care knowledge and skills. Japanese language ability is an indispensable part for learning nursing-care and communicating with the locals.

Engaging in education and social mission, GISPA recommends a Japanese E-learning system [jElearning App]. Also, to measure the proficiency of Japanese, GISPA carries out the [GISPA Japanese Digital Test] domestically and overseas.

In near future, [GISPA Japanese Digital Test] is going to provide a comprehensive digital Japanese evaluation test which can be used to advance Japanese proficiency for not only foreigners but also the Japanese.
